Excuses, Excuses

So, obviously, this blog is still a work in progress. I can't seem to decide on a background -- suggestions are always helpful!

Anyhoo, training the past two weeks has been ... well, scarce. Work + a cold + 30 degree weather = way too many excuses keeping me inside lollygagging instead of outside training. I'm hoping to turn that around at our team run on Saturday. According to the schedule, I'm supposed to hit 8 miles ... but I may keep it closer to 5 unless by some miracle I have the energy to do more.

And, for any of my wonderful donors who are reading this, THANKS again for all of your support!! I've reached my halfway mark in fundraising -- just over $1,000 -- and I couldn't be more ecstatic. I know the holidays are hard, especially this year, so I truly appreciate each and every one of you.

Keep checking back for more updates!

Hi Katie - thanks for the comment on my Racing for a Cure blog. Keep checking back, I am trying to update it several times a week.

Congratulations on signing up for TNT. It is great fun and a great cause. Cancer affects so many people. I like to tell people who do TNT that someday, all cancers will be curable or at least manageable, and when they are, you can look in the mirror, smile a huge smile, and say "Katie - you helped make this happen.".

You are doing great on your fundraising. Way to go! Keep training and blogging. Art in Virginia

Katie,
Strong work - for joining the Team, for very successful fundraising so far, and for getting your running off to a great start. Congratulations!

Have a great time at your team run this Saturday - as the season goes on, it's fun that every other week or so, a handful of people will run their "longest run ever." You've done the big miles before, but I'm sure it's exciting for you to pile them on again.

If anyone on the Team gripes about 30 degree weather, tell 'em Team Madison Wisconsin says hello from 1 below this week and 10 inches of new snow overnight ;)

Thanks for your support as my IM training with TNT gets underway, slowly but surely.

Cheers,
Dano

heyhey! you should put some kind of note maybe or another link that makes it clear where we can go to hep your fundraising effort

I figured out the "Team in Training" button was a link, but it took me a while. You just need a big link that says "DONATE NOW" or something =]

Art -- THANKS so much for stopping by! And I can't WAIT for that day when a cure is found. Can you imagine?? I know you've met some wonderful patients, too, and I can only hope that the day will arrive soon.

Dano -- THANKS for stoppy by, too! Even though I did a marathon years ago, I didn't really ever train for it. So my eight miles tomorrow will be the longest I've run in about nine years! And gosh, 10in of snow?? How the heck do you train in that?! And you better get to blogging ... I need stuff to read :-)

Eric -- You. Are. AWESOME. Thanks sooo much for your support!!! And great suggestion on adding a link -- I'll get that added. Enjoying your blog as well!
