So ... What's Next?

You guys hit the nail on the head with the question, "What's next?" I've been trying to figure that out, but to no avail. Maybe that's why I was a little sluggish in posting my race report, because I didn't know where to go or what to do after.

And, five months later, I'm still not sure. But I definitely know I want to do another race. Many of you have hinted at another 1/2 or *gulp* a full. That would be cool. Or maybe another event with TNT -- Mohan suggested the Nike Women's, which does truly intrigue me. Maybe in 2010 ...

But what to do in the meantime? I suppose the first step would be lacing up my sneaks again. I think I've run twice since Big D. Horrid, I know! I had every intention of taking a short break to let the ankle heal completely. And well ... a short break turned into a bad habit. Oops.

So, I'm going to work on getting back into the habit this week. But, as for a new goal / adventure, what do you guys think? Any race suggestions or cool goals that I can work towards (like 50/50, but without the 50 ... haha)??

I am trying to get back in the habit too Katie. For me, maybe 10 workouts max since the race. I am going out for 5 miles tomorrow AM no matter what.

Nike in 2010 is one I am considering as well. Maybe I will see you there.

I encourage you to do TNT again, either as a participant or as a mentor to share your experience with others. Art

I'm always a bad one to ask about racing goals. I've heard a lot about the Nike race (that is a really good one).

What about focusing on shorter races in the short term to get you back out there?

I think the what next will come to you once you get back out there running. Shorter races may be fun to do during the fall and then a spring half or full!

I have terrible motivation without a goal to work towards. Have fun choosing your next one!

Now put those shoes on and get out there. :)

There is a new 1/2 marathon inst. Petersburg that is a national TNT event. Training for it just started last week.

just a thought. Congrats on your finish and thank you for being a part of the TEAM.

well, pick another race and get training! if you don't necessarily want to do a half or full again yet, make your own series/season of 5k's or 10k's and run a handful of those over a month or two. that way you won't have to get too religious about saturday long runs but you will still be out there running. then after katie's short-race season you could see if you felt up for another long race again?

what's next is whatever you want to do! the sky is the limit. there are always 100 mile races ;)

I'm training for Nike right now!! I bet you'd have a blast running this race. I hear Seattle and San Diego Rock N' Roll marathons (and half marathons) are pretty fun too.

Glad you're getting back into it and blogging! Great update and congrats on your finish!
